PTO Mini-Grants
The Ypsilanti Community Schools Foundation is pleased to launch a PTO mini-grant program for YCS schools. These small grants (up to $500 each) are intended to help Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs) build capacity—by strengthening membership, improving communication, and supporting participation.
Funds can be used for things like food at meetings, childcare during meetings, craft/activity/office supplies, transportation support for meetings (e.g. bus tokens), outreach materials (printing, branded items that build PTO identify and school pride, website), interpretation/translation services, incentives to encourage first time participation (e.g. gift basket drawing), small PTO projects at the school that aim to increase engagement (clean up day, family night), or other activities that help your PTO grow and thrive.
PTOs can apply more than once during the school year when funds are available, but will not be awarded more than $500 total in the school year. Funding will prioritize newly establishing PTOs and those who are looking to grow involvement.
